this is Kristopher - "gettin' a raising"

my place to share the adventures, the ups and downs, and, of course, the incredible joys that i've experienced with parenting Kristopher over the years. i've decided to call it "raising Kristopher" because, as we southerners say, "all children need these days is a good raising.”

the big gain...

as i have mentioned many times before, kristopher is 6'3-6'4 but he only weighs 130 (he says 135) pounds dripping wet and it is a big concern for him. i tell him all the time that since he has his dad's body type, he will not gain his weight until later in life (i wish i were so lucky but i digress). he wants to be buff right now so he has created his own weight training process. it is hysterical watching him do it so i try not to let him see me laughing. i encourage him and cheer him on (even afterwards when he insists that i feel the "muscle" that was built during his workout). oh, i know you are dying to know what he does to get said muscle so fast right? this is his routine:

  • starts out by eating everything in sight
  • 200 bicep curls (with my 5lb weights)

  • 100 pushups (before he starts these he always asks: "ma, you wanna see how many pushups i can do?")

  • 200 situps

  • drinking 3 protein shakes per day

  • ends by eating anything that isn't nailed down (i am surprised that our dog boogie is still around)
it is very funny to see his fitness routine in action because he swears he has packed on some weight since he started it. i haven't the heart to tell him that he hasn't gained any. well, maybe in his feet. hahahahahaha! ok, so it isn't funny.
oh wait- there he goes again. it's on: he started with the curls already. i should probably join him and try to defluff before winter. so i am off to work the situps (i can tell you now that 50 will be all he gets out of me).

i will keep you posted on his (our) progress.
