cat people

we ARE NOT cat people.

or so i thought. my cousin stephanie got a cat from her daughter, ryan. well, pepper (what stephanie decided to call her) was way too needy for stephanie. so she spent all day on saturday trying to get rid of her. she took her to her parents house and they said no. she called each of her brothers and they said no. she called me- i said HELLS to the NALL! we are NOT cat people.

here's how it went down:
RING!!!
me: "hello"?
stephanie (from here on out she will be known as sl): "you want a cat?
me: HELLS to the NALL! i don't like cats. and plus i am a dog person.
sl: "ok, i will be over in a few minutes. she will be a good farm cat to catch stuff around there".
me: "this is NOT a farm and i don't want a cat".
sl: "umhum. see you in a few minutes." CLICK!
she drove up a few minutes later with her son and her nephew. her son, rob, had the cat in his hands. i thought she was kidding but here she was with the cat. i didn't open the door and spoke to her through the glass screen door while the dogs went crazy.

me: "girl, we don't want a cat."
kristopher: "cat? who is getting a cat?"
sl: "i brought her so y'all could have something to catch snakes and rats around here."
me: "we DON'T have snakes or rats!"
sl: come on rob- get back in the truck." and she drove away.
that's how we got the cat. Kristopher and i looked at each other and then back at the cat who had made her way to the door and was meowing at the top of her lungs. she wanted to come inside! this was no "farm" kitten! she wanted in. we soon found out that a)she wasn't used to being outside in the heat and b) she DEFINITELY wasn't up looking for any rodents or anything.
ugh!!!!! that damn stephanie.
